********* charge by Vodacom

Vodacom called me this morning, two years after the phone contract had ended informing me I’m in arrears. The phone has not been in use for over a year because it was lost. When we had gone to the store to cancel, they told us we have to send an email, a month in advance.

My issue is they say after the contract term is up, they then have a month to month agreement. Meaning if a payment is not received, the agreement should automatically terminate (like car insurance). But because they want to **** consumers, so they deliberately let the out of contract “agreement” continue and not inform you that the contract is over. This way the consumer continues to pay the same amount as when they were paying for a contract inclusive of a device.

I now have to pay some R2000+ for a phone I don’t have and haven’t used for over a year and the contract was only R80pm inclusive of a phone.

I believe I’m not liable for this outstanding amount, I’m being ****med just like a lot of other consumers out there.
