********* business conduct

It is the 15th of July 2022 and we are going for the 10th day without fibre. I have exhausted all possibilities. I would like to inform Vodacom that I will be taking the following steps: 1. I am in the process of finding out which Fibre companies in South Africa have the highest ratings. I will then contact one of those with the highest ratings and best service record and rather get a fibre connection with them. 2. I will contact a lawyer in order to take this matter further. I told Vodacom clearly that I am an independent researcher who urgently needs the fibre connection restored in order to conduct research. Thanks to Vodacom I couldn’t conduct proper research for 10 days now. I had to spend money on data for my phone, in order to do research to a certain extent. I want to be compensated for this. Furthermore, I want the ********* business conducts at Vodacom to be properly investigated. Especially the fact that they are basically committing ***** by claiming that we requested a cancellation which we never did. 3. I will be in contact with media outlets and provide them with all details, so that this case will be made public and that potential Vodacom clients are made fully aware of what is going on, so that they will be able to make a very informed decision on whether they should really go through all the pain of becoming clients of this company.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON THIS CASE: On the 5th of July 2022, our fibre connection was suddenly cut. I thought it was due to maintenance being done in our area. On the 9th of July, the connection was still down. I then phoned Vodacom Fibre Centre and they assured me that they will look into it. The reference number SR*** was given to me. On the 12th of July the situation was still the same. I phoned them again and told them I urgently needed the connection to be restored. I am an independent researcher doing research about human trafficking and destructive subcultures. They provided me with another reference number SR***. Once I again I was assured that the problem will be resolved. On the evening of the 12th of July, a gentleman phoned me. He assured me that the problem did not originate with Vodacom, but with the company maintaining the infrastructure. I contacted that company and after a long argument, they assured me that it was not within their power to randomly cut connections. In other words – certain employees at Vodacom falsely accused the infrastructure company. On Wednesday the 13th of July I once again contacted the Vodacom Fibre Centre. I asked them why some of their employees are lying to me. They assured me that it is not part of Vodacom’s conduct to give false information to clients. They then told me that their system displayed an application for cancellation of all services on the 10th of June 2022. In other words, they claim that we phoned them on the 10th of June 2022 and requested a cancellation of all services. Neither me nor anybody in my household ever contacted Vodacom on the 10th of June 2022. We never requested a cancellation. This tells me that there are people at Vodacom who play around with clients’ accounts – logging cancellations that were never requested by the client. In pure desperation, I contacted the sales department of Vodacom Fibre yesterday (14th of July 2022) and asked them to advise me. The gentleman placed me on hold for about 7 minutes and then told me that he will investigate and phone me back. I never received any phone call from him. I then contacted the CEO of Vodacom via email on the same day and explained the whole situation to him. His assistant rep**** to my email and assured me that she will investigate the matter (Ref no: EC-1EEI-2RY5TC). Today is the 15th of July 2022 and this matter has not been resolved. Every month our fibre is payed via debit order. So it is not as if we owe them any money.

It is the 17th of July now and Vodacom Fibre still hasn't fixed the problem. 12 days without Internet. I have reported Vodacom to the SA Consumer Services.
