********* business

I called Vodacom a week before the month end of October Asking for a settlement quote for my cellphone contract. They sent the quote via email and I paid and sent early cancellation documents as they requested. The sent confirmation on my cancellation which stated that there might still be a. Outstanding amount which will be debited if it I’m still owing. 1st November went by, and no debit went off. I assumed all was well. Mid November I receive an email stating that my Vodacom account was handed over to the attorneys. This made no sense since I never missed a payment in the last 12 months and I had just settled my account. Last week I checked my credit score and I noticed that Vodacom listed me as a bad payer. I called Vodacom and they confirmed that my account has an outstanding amount and was handed over due to non payment. This was upsetting since I did not receive any text or call making me aware of my debt and I was already handed over. I’m glad I settled all my accounts with them and will be settling the outstanding amount tomorrow. Vodacom is *********. They intentionally ruined my credit record and never followed legal process for handing over accounts. I’m no longer taking out anything with Vodacom and will advise anyone I know not to support them.
