********* behaviour

I've been with Vodacom since 1995 (20 years). As everyone knows, Vodacom has increased it's prices despite having a contract between Vodacom and myself. Apparently it is legal on condition that the customer may also terminate the contract. Vodacom is very well aware that few people would go these steps because they can charge up to 75% of their subscriptions for the remainder of the contract term (to cover the cost of the handsets).

Vodacom claim that due inflation, they have no choice. Consider that all Vodacom contracts last two years. Every month, contracts throughout South Africa are being renewed. Vodacom can certainly apply increased pricing as new contracts are being renewed. Instead, Vodacom chose to be *********, albeit legal.

What is frustrating is that Vodacom has all the power in the world to change signed contracts at their will and the consumer has very little power to do anything about it, so here is what I am going to do:

My 20 year loyalty has come to an end. I'm going to change service providers. That way, Vodacom cannot penalize me for terminating and maybe, they may realise (with enough customers doing this), that ********* practises is not worth it.
