Underhanded daylight contractual theft.
I ended my contract with Vodacom close to two years ago. I've spent hours calling thier call center, and have made it clear that I no longer wish to continue my contract with them. Only to find I'm still paying a monthly fee for a device I haven't had for years and a contract that ended a long time ago. Day light *******, and when you attempt to contact them they hang up the call when you're unable to provide the cell phone number, without even connecting you to an employee.

02 Sept 2026, 09:58Dear Vodacom Customer Care / Complaints Department,
I am writing to formally raise an urgent complaint regarding continued debit order deductions from my bank account in respect of a Vodacom account that Vodacom has previously confirmed was settled and closed several years ago.
Despite the account having been confirmed as fully settled, Vodacom has continued deducting funds from my bank account for more than two years. I have previously contacted Vodacom regarding this matter and have been advised that the account is settled. However, the deductions have continued without any valid outstanding balance or service obligation on my side.
I have also approached my bank for assistance in stopping the debit order, but unfortunately they have been unable to resolve the matter. I therefore require Vodacom to urgently investigate and rectify this directly.
I formally request the following:
Immediate termination of the debit order linked to the settled Vodacom account.
A full investigation and written explanation as to why deductions have continued despite the account being settled.
A complete statement/history of all deductions made from my account over the past two years.
A refund of all amounts incorrectly deducted after the account was settled, including confirmation of the total amount owed to me.
Written confirmation that the account has been permanently closed/settled and that no further deductions will be processed.
Confirmation that there will be no adverse credit reporting associated with this matter.
This has been ongoing for an unacceptable period, particularly given that I have already brought the matter to Vodacom's attention and the account has been confirmed as settled.
Please treat this as a formal complaint and urgent financial dispute. I request written confirmation of the steps being taken to stop the deductions and resolve the matter, together with a reference number for this complaint.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I reserve the right to escalate the complaint to the relevant regulatory and consumer-protection authorities and pursue recovery of all funds incorrectly deducted.
I would appreciate a written response within 5 business days.
Kind regards,
Mthoko Shange
