Underhanded and *********

I have just purchased a Huawei P smart phone on the Vodacom network. one of the selling point (and for me choosing the phone) is it has dual sim capabilities. i now found out that Vodacom disables this function on there phones, how ridiculous is that ??? and it is not advertised anywhere that this function is disabled. this phone has a slot where you can either put two sims in or 1 sim and a mem card but if you put in two sims it does not read the sim also there is no sim management for the second sim (which there should be if it was not disabled)

SHAME ON YOU VODACOM this is utterly disgraceful

Reviewer Update
I quote from the email sent by Vodacom: "On receipt of your Hellopeter Query, we requested our handset team to review this posting and they escalated this concern to our Procurement Team which is responsible for device purchases and they have advised that the Vodafone Group made a decision that they will not endorse Dual Sim Devices, and all their affiliates within their Group (Vodacom for South Africa) will follow this global directive and they will only make provision and request Single Sim units from Manufactures and local suppliers. Though we would always like to provide our customers positive feedback, in-terms of your escalation unfortunately this is something we cannot change" Now i do appreciate the quick response and do understand that Vodacom is limited in what they can do with regards to the software (as it is Vodafone choice) My complaint is that we as the customer are not informed that we are purchasing a phone which has its features disabled, the advertising still show dual sim. this is misleading. Inform your customers before they purchase the phones so they can make an educated purchase. I just hope that this has help someone out there looking to buy a new phone to ask questions before purchasing even if the advertising shows a function or feature. PS from the information I've received Telkom and Cell c don't do this, so rather buy a phone from them as i wish i knew this before i made this purchase.
