Uncompassionate Vodacom
Recently my husband passed away, because of this, obviously, the debit order for the cellphone accounts didn't go through. I called Vodacom on 5/8/2019 to ask how to pay the account so the phones did not get switched off. They proceeded to send me an SMS with banking details etc & was told to call & confirm that payment had been received in 24/48 hours. I dutifully paid the amount but when I called to confirm that they had received payment they proceeded to tell me that the accounts would be frozen, therefore the phones wouldn't work, and they refused to even discuss why I had been misinformed or a refund. I contacted the executor of the trust, who also contacted Vodacom, and they even refused to discuss the situation with them. Other than the money, which they have essentially ****** from me, I can not afford to be without a phone at the moment; as I am dealing with the legalities of my late husbands estate. Out of all the service providers I have dealt with Vodacom is the only one to show a totally lack of compassion and understanding in the matter!!! Seems they happy to take your money but offer no customer service at all. My friends, family & the company my husband worked for are so disgusted with Vodacom's service in this matter that they are all moving their accounts to competitors. It's a disgrace that a company like Vodacom would take advantage of a widow at this time.
- we need the Death certificate, which they have on file from the previous file and has been emailed and hand-delivered numerous times,
- the account has to have a zero balance, which I've settled 3 times and told 48 hours later that sorry, next months account was loaded, someone should have told you,
- the forms have to be filled in online and when I do that I get told to please go in store to complete them.
Last week I get an email from the Legal Department telling me that this account hasn't been transferred and therefore I must please forward the outstanding bill to the executors of the estate. I responded to their email explaining that I had filled in the transfer documents, the latest set being in December, and I had also received SMS notification that the "credit vetting" had been done and quoted the code that was given. I got a phone call 24 hours later, from the call centre not legal, to enquire further details. I explained in both my email and to the call centre that I refused to be the victim of their bad service and that their letter to the estate was nil and void as the estate had already been closed. Now I've been told to wait for response from the legal department.
Well I'm done. I'm more than happy to take over this account, but I will NOT be running around trying to get it done. I've done enough, paid enough and been bul**** enough! It's all up to Vodacom to finalise it. I refuse to held liable for costs due to bad service!
