Uncommunicated conditions for Honor promotional gift at Vodacom Mall of the North

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the deceptive promotional practices and poor aftercare service experienced by my mother at the Vodacom Shop in Mall of the North, Polokwane. She purchased an Honor smartphone cash, under the explicit in-store promotion that it included a free Honor watch. The store did not bundle the item at the point of sale. Instead, we have been forced into an email back-and-forth with the Limpopo Area Manager (as seen in file 32055.jpg and file 31994.jpg), who states that because it was a cash deal, they cannot process the gift without her ID number. There was absolutely no mention of ID requirements for a cash deal promotion during the sale or in the visible advertising. Coming up with moving goalposts and forcing a customer to surrender sensitive identity information after the money has changed hands is wrong. Honor SA and Vodacom need to fulfill their promotional obligations without troubling elderly customers with uncommunicated post-sale hurdles.
