Uncapped data and router ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a loyal customer to Vodacom for over a decade and I have enjoyed excellent service from them to a point that I managed to convince everyone in my house to be on Vodacom. Little did I know that they are recently running a **** of forcing people into contracts that they cannot afford. I am so disappointed! If I could afford to pay all my accounts off today, I would never used their service ever in my life!!

On the 23rd of March 2022 I received a call from Vodacom ***) offering me a new router with uncapped data for R499.00 a month. I specifically informed the sales agent that I cannot afford a new contract as I was already paying R499.00 for a router that offers 200GB a month. The lady explained that I don't have to worry about that as the old contract will fall off and I will continue to pay R499.00 for the new router. I specifically indicated that I will not take a second contract unless the other one is cancelled. She assured me and even transferred me to talk to her supervisor who promised that my monthly instalment will not increase.

on the 29th of March my account was debited with R499.00 by Vodacom and I called the call center to inquire about the transaction and I was informed that I was billed for the contract that I signed on the 23rd of March 2022. I expressed that I could not afford the second router and that I have been cheated into taking a contract that I cannot afford and I immediately requested a cancellation. The agent indicated that the router and the card will be collected my RAM within 7 to 14 days.

14 days elapsed and I called the Vodacom call center again on the 22nd of April to find out why the router hasn't been picked up. I was shocked to be informed that no cancellation was lodged and there is no record of that on the system. I advised the agent to process the cancellation of the *** number for the second time, indicating to her that I am worried that Vodacom is going to charge me R499.00 again.

Vodacom continued to bill me on this second contract last month. I called with another line from work ***) and I was informed that there is no record of me cancelling the contract. I requested that they cancel it. On the 26th of April I called the call center again to follow up. Agent informed me that they cannot pick up the number I was querying on the system and he told me that it could mean that the contract was successfully cancelled.

I followed up again today because I saw that the number is still on my vodacom app and it shows that I will be billed R499 again month end. I was informed that unfortunately there is no record showing that I cancelled the account and I am now liable for a penalty fee should I cancel the contract now.

what disgust me more is how these agents will each offer me another deal every time I called and also explain how unprofessional their colleagues are when it comes to cancelling deals because they get commission for sales. It is really disappointing to be treated this way. The agent that I spoke to earlier today told me that I can go wherever I want but I have no choice but to pay the contract. all the delay tactics were done to ensure that i never get to cancel the contract.

I have proof showing the number of calls I made to Vodacom and I hope you can able to pull out those records and hear for yourselves how appalling your call center service is. I am so frustrated and I hope someone assist me!

Dear Vodacom Consumer Website Team

How soon will I receive feedback regarding this matter? I don't want another debit order going off my account later this month due to delays in resolving the matter.

I can't believe that it has been a week and no one from Vodacom has contacted me. Your customer service is appalling.

The automated replies mean nothing if no action is being taken to resolve my query.
