04/05/2017

Good day,

My mother has a contract with Vodacom. Her number has been deactivated because of a sim swop 3 times now.

After the first 2 attempts that someone did a sim swop on her number she made it clear to Vodacom that they are not allowed to EVER do a sim swop on her number without her consent but once again Vodacom had no worry about her safety and the did it again.

One of the 3 times that her number got sim swopped and was deactivated, was in an event that she fell and was admitted to hospital. She was in hospital with no working phone. She was not able to contact family, friends, medical aid, doctors or co-workers. Luckily she had someone close by who was able to help with all the arrangement needed.

It is ridiculous that Vodacom cares so less about a good paying customer’s safety. With all the ****s and safety issues concerning us in South Africa a thought of safety and protection against ***** from suppliers would be nice, or it makes you think that the supplier might just contribute to the ***** in our country.

It was made clear from my mother that Vodacom should NOT ever do a sim swop again on her number without her consent. If she is a victim of ANY crime relating to this sim swops we will hold Vodacom liable for all loss as this matter was taken up with Vodacom and Vodacom was informed more than once that a sim swop should not go through on her number.

Thank you

Marizanne
