Unauthorized debits by unknown service provider - Vodacom takes no responsibility

I have had R10 per day deducted from my account for reasons unknown, which only came to light after moving from a contract to prepaid.

With no idea what this was, I phoned Vodacom Customer Care on 082111. The agent told me that I must have subscribed without my knowledge to a web site. She could not tell me which website, but she did confirm that since that was my mistake, it's my problem. I wasted my time stating:
(1) I only access web sites via Wi-Fi which don't reveal my phone number
(2) I don't click on web pages without reading them first
(3) I had no idea where the R10 was being paid to

She said that to take this further I would have to go to my local Vodacom agent.

Certainly she could not help me in any way, not even suggest what to do next like what I found on the Internet:
(4) SMS 'stop all' to 30333 to stop all 3rd party payments
(5) Vodacom trumpets that in Dec 2011 they lauched a double opt-in to prevent this type of ****

After SMS 30333, I received confirmation that I had been unsubscribed from Mobile Academy hwoever they are

I went to the local agent the same day, but they could only repeat points 1 -3 above and disclaim any involvement. When they accessed my account, it showed that there were no active subscriptions. Therefore no history, (presumably conveniently wiped out by 30333?). They suggested I contact Vodacom Customer Care - back to square one.

I would like to know:
- how did Mobile Academy latch onto my cell number?
- when did this happen; how long has this been going on?
- why did Vodacom's double opt-in fail so spectacularly
- and if it did, I would like a refund of all the debits ****** from my account without my knowledge or authority

Clearly I am being shunted in circles with no hope of any support from Vodacom, hence this complaint

Vodacom has refunded all the debits made by Mobile Academy against my prepaid account, for which I am most grateful.
