I have informed customer care on the 16.03.2020 to cancel. It is customercares fault that they did not inform vodacom cancellations department back on the 16.03.2020 to cancel. I only do cancellations in writing that's my terms as per my lawyers instruction.
I have it in writing that I wanted contract to not be renewed and all contracts in my name to be cancelled. My bank will stop all vodacom debit orders and you can take this up in court when COVID -19 is over as I will not pay vodacom anymore money.
You vodacom customer care were supposed to cancel my contract as I instructed you a month before the contract expired but you vodacom customer care did not do your customer any service.
I will retain proof of cancellation as per reference number *** which you customer care only submitted to the cancellations department today.

Carl

No your statement is not in order as the contract terminated on the 16.03.2020 and I instructed vodacom not to renew the contract on the 16.02.2020 as per email in writing from my email address ***. My bank has stopped vodacom debit orders as I have instructed them to do so - they actually action their customers needs.
I hope the above is clear.
I will retain proof of vodacom cancellation as per reference number *** which the customer care only submitted to the cancellations department on the 04.04.2020.
I however have informed vodacom via email on the 16.02.2020 to not renew the contract. For further clarification you can talk to my lawyers and I will gladly assist you in providing you with their contact details.

Item 4.2 also refers "either party may terminate this Agreement during the Initial Period or a Renewal Period by providing at least 20 (twenty) business day’s notice to the other party in writing."
I have thus provided that notice on the 16.02.2020 in writing. This is as per your terms and conditions.
I have advised my banks to cancel any unauthorized vodacom debit orders. As I do not authorize any payments as my contract ended on the 16.03.2020 and I have given notice to vodacom in writing on the 16.02.2020 as per item 4.2 of vodacom terms and conditions.
4.2. Despite clause 4.1, either party may terminate this Agreement during the Initial Period or a Renewal Period by providing at least 20 (twenty) business day’s notice to the other party in writing. If you do choose to terminate this Agreement during the Initial Period or a Renewal Period, you will be subject to payment of a reasonable premature cancellation charge, determined by Vodacom, and you will have to pay all outstanding amounts in respect of the Services and/or Apparatus related to the Services. A reasonable premature cancellation charge for the purposes of this clause shall mean 75% of the balance of your contract. The balance of your contract is your monthly subscription amount times by the remaining months of your contract. Any amounts outstanding to Vodacom will also be added to the cancellation cost."
