Unauthorized debit orders & fictional invoices
Vodacom billed me for a contract I did not sign up for and after several failed attempts of communication (where I revoked the debit order mandate several times), I complained to the National Consumer Protector. The consumer protector forced them to respond, the erroneous contract was cancelled, the overbilled amounts credited, and my number switched to prepaid.
But my Vodacom-nightmare continued. Then Vodacom ran an unauthorized debit order to try and recover the CREDITED amount. I complained to Vodacom and the consumer protector because Vodacom is still ignoring the fact that I revoked the debit order mandate (several times!) and insisted my details be removed from their system. I received no response. I complained to my bank who informed me they cannot block the debit orders, Vodacom HAS to cancel it on their side. This month, despite the fact that I'm no longer a client and since ported away from Vodacom, Vodacom ran another unauthorized debit order on my bank account for a newly generated invoice I have no knowledge of. I complained to Vodacom and the national consumer again but received no response. After I called my bank, they placed measures in place to try and block future debit orders.
