Unauthorized billing for "subscription services"
VODACOM deducted funds from my bank account WITHOUT my authorization or approval for an alleged subscription service which I did not enter into - Vodacom has not provided me with any proof that I entered into this subscription service, yet they deducted the money from my account. On querying with Vodacom, their response was that I must take this up with WASPA as they have nothing to do with this. Well, VODACOM, you do have something to do with this, as VODACOM deducted this from my account, Opera Telecom did not deduct this from my account. Vodacom has a responsibility to ascertain from me whether I have entered into such a service agreement before any deductions were made from my account, especially if this is done on behalf of another party. Vodacom needs to reimburse me as VODACOM charged me for this service with I did not receive nor subscribe to. Further, Vodacom are playing the typical "goliath" role by not responding effectively to my complaint and instead respond simply by saying that I must take this up with WASPA, and then push me from "pillar to post" to get my money back (which VODACOM took from my account!!). How is it that VODACOM requires multipage contracts to enter into any service agreement with them; yet they accept that a "subscription" service with another party was entered into without such a detailed contract or any confirmation from me as their client and then proceed to deduct funds from their client's accounts on behalf of this (and other) third parties? I have not agreed with Vodacom for Vodacom to deduct funds from my account on behalf of anybody else.
Best regards,
