Unauthorised upgrade

The upgrade department at vodacom contacted me om the 8th of March to remind me that I am due for an upgrade and if I would like to upgrade. I told them that I want to cancel the contract at the end of the term (in about two months) and would not like to upgrade.

They then proceeded to tell me that they can give me a cheaper deal with the same amount of airtime and data if I did not want to upgrade to another phone, but that this will be a new 2 year contract period. I told them no, I would like to cancel at the end of the term.

Two days later, my cellphone cuts of and I have no more airtime or data. upon calling the call centre, the first lady told me that her system is taking a while and she will call me back. This did not happen. Upon calling the second time, I was treated very rudely and unprofessional and told by the agent that the fact that I do not have airtime is my own fault because I used it all on the internet. I know this caanot be possible as I get 2gb every month and have only used 400megs. Upon asking her to put me through to a manager, I am placed on hold for 20 minutes.

Fine, I stay on hold and I call them from another phone. The third person finally can tell me that for some or other reason my contract was changed on the 8th to a R75 per month top up. Why I do not know as I did not authorise this nor did I ask for it. I was not notified of this change, and all my previous airtime and data under the old contract expired.

This is unacceptable, I have been a client of vodacom for the past ten years and I have never been treated so unprofessionally.

I am very unhappy and if I cannot get proper feedback on this I will cancel all my contract with Vodacom
