Unacceptable Vodacom Query Resolution

I contacted Vodacom Upgrades Department in July 2018 as I was eligible for an upgrade. I spoke with a consultant who verified my details and verified that i was indeed eligible for an upgrade. I explained what phone I was looking at and we continued to log the upgrade. Before i was complete with the call, I asked the agent if there would be any additional charges, connection fees or a difference in my current monthly contract bill as i did not want to pay more than I already was. I was assured that there was none and that my premiums would remain the same. Upon receipt of my first upgrade bill in August 2018, there was an increase of R584.25 more than i had previously paid. I phoned Vodacom to enquire as to why the additional charges. It was said that because there was still a month or so left on the previous contract, I was being billed the old device fee for the remaining months. (This is the first time that I have heard of any cell company charging device fees for full term despite upgrade) I explained that i had specifically requested for additional fee information from the advisor at the time, who assured me that there would be no additional charges. By this time, i received my next monthly bill which no longer included the old device fee but the supposedly normal monthly fee that would be billed. Here again was a difference from what i had previously paid. A difference of R107.68. I then requested the consultant to log a query for Vodacom to listen to the voice recording of the day of upgrade as this was the basis of my complaint. I was not informed correctly. After several NO feedbacks from Vodacom and myself having to contact Vodacom myself to get update on my query and having to explain the entire story to each consultant i was transferred to each time I called in, I finally personally went to the Vodacom shop in my area as a last attempt to get assistance and explained the situation to the consultant. The Consultant then logged the query and said that would get back to me. I received a phone call today from the consultant stating that the feedback received was that Vodacom could not find the voice recording as it was handled by one of their 3rd party companies (something like that) and that their was nothing further they could do or assist me with. They would not further look at the matter nor pass any credit. The consultant also was not at liberty to forward the received communication to myself nor was able to guide me with any further possible actions i could take. It is infuriating that despite my best efforts to state my case to Vodacom, that they are able to take funds out of my account without providing sufficient information up front and without my approval. These contract deals are one sided. The customer is bound by contract to pay monthly and will be legally taken to task by these Giants if the customer does not honor the agreement and pay, yet if the customer has a problem with the service or is incorrectly billed, there is very little the customer can do to resolve the matter. Meanwhile, Vodacom continues to take their money. Right or wrong. And in my case, doesn't even have a call recording as proof of any transaction being done. The way i see it, its *****, but nothing I can do. Absolutely, absurdly, unacceptable.
