Unacceptable Vodacom

For the first time in forever I have had content service charges from VODACOM. I had no knowledge of these subscriptions and had no benefit from it whatsoever! The content services had run up bills of R240 and R1300 on 2 seperate months. Luckily I saw it and had it stopped it before it carried on. Vodacom's response was to contact WASPA and sort it out, even thought they billed me and the one invoice has already been paid to them! We as a company have a corporate account with Vodacom and this has happened to a few numbers on our account. We have threatened to move our account to a different service provider and still get no assistance regarding this matter. Vodacom does not seem to care, even when I suggested thay must do something to prevent this. They state the charges happen automatically, I am suppose to be happy with that answer.

I am in sales and provide sevice to people, if I had the same attitude we would not be in business anymore!

Surely Vodacom can do something about this as I have heard it is a commen problem???

Attached are emails to and fro from VODACOM:

-----Original Message-----
Sent: Thu May 11 11:27:34 GMT+0 **********
To: **********
Subject: Content Services

Good day

We have a corporate account with Vodacom.
It has come under my attention that we have been charged content services on 2 of our numbers.
On my number I was billed for R238.99 for content services in March and again for R1371.08 for April.
I have not subscribed to anything ever, and have certainly not received any services.
I have contacted Vodacom Customer care and the services were stopped. The lady that I spoke to told me that it is out of Vodacom?s hands, although we are billed by you and your are our service provider. She gave me the details of WASPA, I have emailed them the details and my requests for refunds are pending.
We have also sent an email to ***@vodacom to disallow all content services to all our company numbers.
I cannot understand how Vodacom can allow things like this to happen and expect a customer to sort it out. We pay our account to Vodacom and no one else.
In fact the March invoice has been paid for, content services included. Luckily I saw the massive bill difference in April and acted on it.
I have been with Vodacom for nearly 20 years and has never had a problem like this. Surely this is some kind of ****/***** and I cannot understand how this type of thing is not blocked by Vodacom. Our company?s General Mangager and Financial Manager is as upset as I am. They have even mentioned to move our whole account.

I saw on your website you want to stay clear of emails but I feel this is the best way for me to state my grief.
Hope to get some sort of reply.

Thanks

From: **********
Sent: Thursday, May 11, 2017 1:46 PM
To:
Subject: RE: EC-0COZ-2V8FWS Content Services

Good day

I looked into the line.

The content was removed on the 2017-05-02 12:50:41

Content services are automatically loaded through web sessions, downloads etc.

Regards
Bongani

From:
Sent: Fri May 12 10:59:54 GMT+0 **********
To: **********
Subject: Re: EC-0COZ-2V8FWS Content Services

Good day Bongani

As stated in my first email, the subscriptions were stopped when I phoned Vodacom yes.
I do not understand how you can state that services are automatically loaded just like that. Without me confirming or having any knowledge of this and have to pay for it to Vodacom.
Automatically is not a good enough answer for all my questions.
As I have stated that I have contacted WASPA and it is now in their hands while Vodacom has billed me for this and not doing anything about it.
I have been a Vodacom client for 19 years and have never had a problem before.
How can it be so easy to subscribe ?automatically? without knowing about it, without getting benefit from it and having to pay for it. Then having to phone Vodacom to unsubscribe?
We have 2 cell numbers on our corporate package that this has happened to now and the General Manager is considering moving to another service provider, if one of my clients told me that I would certainly go through a bit more effort, at least to try and prevent cases like this.

Good day

Unfortunately from my side, I have no provisioning on content services.

Kindly email the address below.
**********
Kind regards
Bongani

Still in dispute with WASP providers. Emails went as far as British Virgin Islands through a few companies. Still not resolved.
Vodacom gives no assistance on the matter but has gladly taken the money via debit.
Vodacom has contacted our GM about upgrades, we have mentioned the problem, no response.
If one has to block this sort of stuff after it has happened automatically as stated by Vodacom this must be regarded as reckless trading at least by Vodacom for allowing this to happen!
Our company is busy moving our account.
