Unacceptable service from Vodacom. Unresolved issues since September 2016.

6 September 2016 – Contract holder phones Vodacom cancellation department to cancel contract for number 08* *** **** and switch the sim to pre-paid.

Reference number EC-0496-29VV53

The quote, proof of payment and contract holders ID was sent to Vodacom.

The cancellation amount of R2515.44 was paid to Vodacom on 6 September 2016.

14 September 2016 – A email was received from ********** that the number was changed to pre-paid.

September – December 2016

We tried to open a new business contract with another service provider on the “old” Vodacom number. Could not be done since the new contract holder was listed on ITC by Multichoice for R49.00 (Multichoice does not have any record of this and according to them the new contract holder does not owe them anything)

After months of struggle the name was removed off the ITC list.

In January 2017 we gave up on opening a new contact with the other service provider and went back to Vodacom to open a business contract. The old contract was never cancelled and is still not on pre-paid. Vodacom has used the R2515.44 that was paid in September for the premature cancellation to credit the account each month.

The cancellation had to be logged and processed again.

The previous account holder went to Vodacom in Thabazimbi to try and sort out the case. The agent at the Vodacom shop phones Vodacom and then the query is transferred between the accounts department and the cancellation department without any success.

16 January 2016 – Received sms that sim has been changed to pre-paid.

16 January 2016

We went to Vodacom Clearwater it showed that the sim has been changed to pre-paid.

We app**** for a business contract.

The application was accepted and a new iPhone 7 was issued to us and the new contract would be activated in +- 24 hours.

After about one week the contract was still not active.

When we enquired with Vodacom Clearwater the agent said it is because we missed January’s port date and that it will only be activated on 17 February 2017.

20 January 2017

R2630-67 was deducted from the previous contract holders account again for the premature cancellation of the account.

The agent from Vodacom Thabazimbi sees on the system that a pass for refund was app****

Reference: SR1- ********** 687606

The account holder reversed the debit order of R2630-67 because she already paid the cancellation fee in September 2016. And does not want a credit on the account.

14 February 2017

An automated phone call at 22h00 informs us that the contract and sim-card has been suspended.

15 February 2017

I went to Vodacom Clearwater to sort out the blocked SIM. Since the debit order of R2630-67 was reversed and the previous contract was still active until January the account was in arrears.

I paid the outstanding R683.48 and the account was settled.

The agent phoned the accounts department (10h30) and they said it would take 1 – 5 hours for the sim to be unblocked.

16 February 2017

The sim is still blocked.

The new business contract has still not been activated.

This is unacceptable.

We have been spending thousands of Rands on airtime in the past few months while patiently waiting for the issues to be resolved.

We have a new business and this is the only number that we are using. We are in the health care sector so Doctors, Nurses, Physiothe******s must get hold of us if there are patients.

We have been very patient, but our business that we have been working very hard to build in the past six months is being negatively affected by this whole situation.
