Unacceptable service at Vodacom Nicolway!

I am beyond livid with Vodacom, specifically their Nicolway branch. I have had numerous issues with this store and my frustrations continue. I have just wasted almost an hour of my time waiting to speak to a manager who refuses to speak to clients and sits ***ering in the back room while clients are complaining and leaving out of frustration.

I purchased a Snug iPhone charger cable for R299 in early December, I thought by paying so much for it, that it would actually be of decent quality. Since purchasing this cable, I had to plug and unplug the cable at least 5 times before it would register that my phone was actually charging. Once it was charging it would literally take hours before my phone was fully charged. This would eventually result in my iPhone charging port being damaged, which would be at my own expense. The cable has now completely stopped working, with no damage done by me. I have gone back to Vodacom in Nicolway to return the product as I'm extremely unhappy and I was happy to follow whatever procedure I needed to.

I returned the cable which I've only had for 3 months, in original packaging (which has a 1 year warranty) and I was refused a refund because I didn't have the receipt with me. According to the consumer protection act, this is completely unacceptable. I was even willing to take a voucher and STILL purchase more from their store. I was able to provide the time frame I bought the cable, even the name of the person who sold it to me - are they not bale to look this up on their system?

At first the woman who helped me said I needed to speak to the manager, she then sat down and helped another customer without even informing the manager that I was waiting. I then asked for assistance from someone else, I asked to speak to the manager and he informed me that I couldn't speak to the manager and he would have to relay the message to him. In what store does the manager refuse to speak to customers?!

I have 2 Vodacom contracts of which amount to nearly R3000 per month and I have had endless bad service. The staff unfortunately bear the brunt of frustrated consumers because the manager refuses to manage the store.

I had then asked, what if I am unable to find the receipt, it is just tough-luck for me and I lose R299 because the product is ****?! She was unable to answer me. In my mind, if you know the Snug brand is not a reliable Apple product, then don't sell it in your store. I went to Vodacom thinking it would still be cheaper than going to Apple directly and this was a HUGE mistake!

This is completely unacceptable and don't see that it's my problem that I don't have a phone charger now because the cable I purchased does not work - am I expected to fork out more money to just buy a new one?!

I will not be renewing my cellphone contracts when they come to an end and I won't even get a prepaid sim card through Vodacom, I won't be recommending them either. Their service is completely unreliable and this is honestly the last straw for me. When a manager refuses to manage a store it really doesn't say much for great customer service!

This product needs to be refunded and I want my money back, by means of a voucher or whatever. I do not want this product and it is not my problem to lose money because they refuse to help me.

Vodacom, you best sort this out!
