unacceptable poor service with sim swop Vodacom Villiage Mall Hartbee****rt

on Wednesday, 26 April 2017 at approximately 15h40, my father's cellphone was ****** in Spar Sediba Plaza, Hartbee****rt.

when we found out the cellphone was missing, we drove immediately to Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt to block the sim card and blacklist the device.

we got there at 15h54 but stood in front of a closed door - notice on the door said that the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt will close at 16h00 for stock-taking (an action I believe should be done outside normal operating hours!).

after showing the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt employee that the time is not yet 16h00 and that we had an emergency, she opened the door and a Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consultant assisted us.

we asked the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consultant to block the sim card, do a sim swop and blacklist the device.

the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consultant said she cannot do a sim swop because they have already cashed-up their till (for the stock-taking) - it was not even 16h00 yet - and that we will have to wait until the next day's operating hours in order to do so - but she can blacklist the device.

we said that it is totally unacceptable - I am in the shop and it is not even 16h00 yet - and insist on being served.

after speaking to the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt manager, he said the only way she can help us is to proceed with the sim swop but only put the transaction thru their till first thing the next morning.

the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consultant proceeded with the sim swop - gave us a new sim card - taken our cash for the sim card - and confirmed that the sim swop was done - we should be back on-line in anything from 1 to 4 hours.

the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consulted blacklisted the device, and sent reference number for that to my cellphone.

at 12h30 yesterday, 27 April 2017 - some 20 hours after the sim swop was done at Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt - the cellphone line was still not activated.

I contacted Vodacom Customer Care on 082111 and they said an sim swop can take anything from 3 to 24 hours to be activated - call back after 24 hours if it still isn't working.

at 16h30 yesterday, 27 April 2017, more than 24 hours after the sim swop was done at Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt my cellphone still is not activated.

I contacted Vodacom Customer Care again, and the lady spend 29 minutes on the phone with me to try and resolve the problem :

it transpired that (I believe in her haste to get me out of her shop) the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consultant did not complete the sim swop - the Vodacom Customer Care lady even tried to manually override and reload the IMEI number from her system - but because the Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt consultant did not complete her job, she could not and that the sim card would need to be replaced.

the outcome is that I have to go back to Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt this morning at 09h00 in order to get the sim card replaced - something I am not going to pay for !

i find it totally unacceptable as a customer to experience such pathetic levels of service from your Vodacom Shop Villiage Mall, Hartbee****rt shop.
