Unacceptable poor service from Vodacom

I have a complaint against Vodacom who handled the termination of my mobile contract extremely distastefully. My contract came to an end in 2022 and I had notified Vodacom telephonically to cancel the contract and that I will not be renewing. The account was not cancelled and I was then charged for this. I received communication saying that I did not cancel the contract which I responded on email to the cancellations department confirming that I had cancelled and if there was anything outstanding to please send me any outstanding balance. I received no communication. A year later in March 2023 I received a call from Douglas Mchunu from a legal firm Munnik Basson Dagama saying that I owe R1600 however if I made payment within a certain time that I would be afforded a discount. I then paid an amount of R1328 and provided him with proof. I was under the impression that this was now resolved only to find out that the matter was still not resolved. I went to the Vodacom store earlier in October 2024 to apply for a new cell phone contract and was told that I owed R360 which I paid at the store. I went back after 48 hours to continue with my application on to be told by the accounts department at Vodacom that my account was still in arrears and I have to pay a further R400, however the lady at the store showed me that the amount owing on the system was zero and my account was all paid up.

This is really unacceptable as this has now affected my credit score and its shocking how Vodacom is not aware of Munnik Basson Dagama had given customers discounts and confirmed that their accounts were all in order once payment was made. This is gross negligence on Vodacom's part and no one is being held accountable for treating a customer unfairly and for wasting a customers time and money. I was further promised that I would receive a statement from Vodacom accounts department on the 28th October to understand why I owed a further R400 and have received no communication or call back to follow up with me. I am extremely disappointed with the way my account and application was handled after being a loyal customer to Vodacom.
