Unacceptable delay on a refund

I have been a vodacom customer for many years now and this is the first time I have been overly frustrated with your service and the lack of follow through that is promised by your service consultants.

On the 23rd January, I contacted the Vodacom cancellations department to cancel a number I no longer needed, the number was no longer within contract. I gave the consultant the number to cancel and she confirmed that it would be cancelled by the end of the month (that was all, nothing more was said). At the end of February, I received my statement stating that there was an amount of approx R1400 deducted from my account (over and above the monthly amount I pay as per my contract), I contacted customer service and I was then informed that I cancelled a number that was still within contract and that I had to pay or buy out the balance of the contract, it then occured to me that the wrong number had been cancelled when I called in the first instance.

I called the cancellations department the next day 3 March, and the consultant informed me that it was an error on their side and that they will either reactivate the incorrectly cancelled number and cancel the correct number or just cancel both, either way, the consultant promised that the amount incorrectly debited from my account would be refunded with 14 days, she mentioned that a request was sent to back office and to accounts.

Nothing has been paid to date, I spoke to cancellations yesterday again and she did not seem to understand what I was explaining and put me through to the support department, there she said that the consultant I spoke to on the 3rd of March did not correctly log the query and they therefore have no idea whats going on.

Bottom line, I was incorrectly debited, I would never in my right mind cancel a contract that is still running simply because of the fact that I would have to pay in, and surely if that was the case, I would expect that the consultant make me aware of the amount that would be paid if I was cancelling a number still in contract..........I explicitly wanted to cancel the number that was out of contract as I no longer needed it.

I do not know where to turn anymore, I want my money back as this was not my error. Please contact me for more information such as the numbers in question....I would also like to believe that you have recordings of these conversations.

Looking forward to your response

Martinique

I have to date heard nothing from Vodacom......disgusting service. Funny how you are happy to take my money even though it was a mistake but when I need you to pay me back what is owed to me, you disappear.

I want what was wrongfully taken from me back
