Unacceptable Customer Service
This is my last resort as contacting someone from Vodacom is near to impossible.
I have been on MTN ever since I got my first phone, however, I thought I would change to Vodacom as my boyfriend has been happy with them for a very long time. Well, I guess that was my first mistake.
I first went into Vodacom Randridge Mall on Saturday the 26th of October with the hopes of upgrading and switching over to Vodacom. I was told that ports only happen during the week so they would put everything in place and when I received the message from Vodacom on Monday to please come back. I was told my phone would lose signal and when that happens to switch to the Vodacom sim card. The next week I waited and waited but my phone never lost signal.
So, that following Sunday the 27th October I went back to Vodacom Randridge. Where I was told it was the sim card that they gave me was faulty so that's why the port didn't go through. So we tried again, everything was prepared for the port to go through on the Monday morning. But still nothing. I then went back on the Monday and I was told that there wasn't anything that they could do for me with regards to an upgrade until the port went though. So I waited some more.
Eventually on November 5th I went to Vodacom Cresta to see if they could maybe help me. Once again they assured me the port would go through that evening so if I came back the next day it would be just in time to get my LG G8 upgrade along with my R1000 shopping voucher (The deal of the month which ended on the 6th November).
Well you guessed it, the port didn't go through, once again. Concerned I would miss the monthly deal they assured me they would honour the deal. Luckily when I was there on the Tuesday- the 5th, I signed all the paperwork I needed to which proves I started this process before the deal ended.
Eventually, on Friday evening the 8th of November the port went through. So Saturday morning I went back to Cresta to finally get my upgrade. When doing this I was told I wouldn't be able to get the R1000 voucher then as they had to submit all the evidence to LG and once they approved it I would get it.
The following Tuesday the 12th I was informed they weren't able to get the voucher for me. Wasn't given a reason why, nothing?
This now leaves me here. After 3 weeks of fighting & going back and forth to Vodacom stores my first week with Vodacom has been anything but delightful.
So where to from here? Who else do I need to complain to before I get what I was promised? I had done everything on my part but due to Vodacom employees failing to carry out their jobs effectively I am the one who lost out. And honestly it simply isn't acceptable.
I will continue to go higher and higher until I get the deal that I signed up for.
