Unacceptable behaviour - Billed on account after conversion to pay as you go

After getting lofty bills on more then one occasion which fell so far out of my normal monthly usage i decided to convert my contract (3 years in without upgrading so on a month to month) to a pay-as-you-go.

After going in to the Vodacom shop in the Davinci in Sandton City to notify them of my wishes, i signed some paperwork, settled the over R9,000 Vodacom said i owed them a few days later. My normal usage was R1,000.

A few weeks later i got a call regarding the account. I stated i completed the paperwork at the Davinci branch but these paperwork had 'disappeared', so i then went through the process of getting a Premature Cancellation Quote which i completed and faxed to the number provided - (011) ********** on 26 May 2016.

That i thought was that.

Then on the 20 July i receive a call from Vodacom stating i owe them a further R3,424.70. When i contested they told me if was usage for the last few months. This could not been possible as the sim card was not even in a phone to begin with never mind making calls or using data.

I was then told to contact the VSP Legal Specialized Collections department to rectify.

So i emailed the relevant department the Premature Cancellation Quotation on the 20 July 2016. I followed this up with two further emails requesting feedback on 25 July 2016 and 1 August 2016 – ReferenceEC-0440-21UL2D.

To this day i have still received nothing.

Only to wake up to a payment notification from my bank of R3,424.70 from Vodacom.

This is absolutely pathetic and unacceptable. I will not take being ********** by this ******* company any more.

Legal action to follow.
