Unable to use second sim on dual sim phone

Is there any reason why Vodacom has blocked the dual sim functionality on their phones? And they don't tell customers about this at all until you try to use the second sim slot. I don't see why this is a problem if both sims are vodacom contract sims.

I contacted an agent via customer service and he swears that Vodacom does not do this, but all online searches I've looked at shows that it's done on a manufacturer's level, so they can't even unlock this if you request/ask for it.

I know now that dual sim functionality is not supported on the Network. What I was complaining about was the fact that this is not advertised before clients purchase the phones. They have specific needs and choose phones based on these needs, only to be met with the harsh truth that they cannot use the function they chose the phone for because there network provider has blocked this functionality.

Also, train up your customer service consultants with this knowledge so that instead of arguing with the customers that this function is not blocked by Vodacom, let them acknowledge that this a big corporate stunt to maintain the monopoly and not prevent customers from going to other networkers who do not block this functionality, like Telkom and Cell C. The agent that I spoke to actually told me to go back into the store to find out what the problem was because it was not Vodacom. What a laugh.
