Unable to Repair Blackberry KeyOne
1. Upgraded to a Blackberry KeyOne on 21 Nov 2017. 2. Received the phone on 27 Nov 2017 via courier. 3. I dropped the phone on the 28th Nov 2017 (One Day after receiving it), cracking the screen. 4. Had it delivered to Vodacom Repairs East London to have the screen repaired. Naturally I dropped the phone, so the cost would be for my personal pocket. 5. Vodacom Repairs called to say the Phone is no longer manufactured and they cannot repair it. 6. Called ********** to inform them to tell them that a phone was sold to me, although under warranty, cannot be repaired - no parts. When the telesales person sold me the phone, this was never mentioned. 7. Got a call back from Vodacom Repairs East London to say that Vodacom contacted them, and if they managed to get the parts, the cost would be the same as replacing the phone. The quote is R6,150.
All I want is my screen repaired - the part cost approx R2,500, plus labour which cannot take more than 30 mins to remove, insert, and test.
It is really wrong to sell a product and not warn the customer that there are no parts available - obviously a customer would not accept.
For the record, I have attempted to have this resolved with Vodacom Business, Vodacom Repairs (National Call Centre) and the Vodacom Repairs East London.
