Unable to port number to Vodacom

Hi,

Last week Tuesday I went to the Vodacom shop in Rivonia to have my current MTN number ported to Vodacom with the intention of signing up for a contract.

The process was started and I was told I will receive an SMS when the port is done within 4 hours. This was not the case at all. I have called the call centre multiple times and the Rivonia Vodacom shot multiple times and it is still not done. Went to the store again today to try sort it out just to be told they can do nothing and the system should process the request.

Decided to cancel the current request to resubmit a request using the SMS channel. After a couple of hours I phoned the call centre again just to find out the cancellation will take 3 working days minimum. And only then can I start the porting process again, which will probably not work anyway.

My wife also did a sim swap last week wednesday. Switched the phone on and there is no service. Called the customer care line, they said that they have reset the sim card and it should work within two hour. This was yesterday afternoon. Asked at the Rivonia branch to please help with the sim swap problem today(The sim swap was also done here) and again I was told two hours and it wil work. Again it is still not working.

I am not sure wether it is this specific shop that are terrible or Vodacom as a whole, but I do know that I am not a patient enough person to try to fix these things forever.

I am trying really hard to give Vodacom my money for the foreseeable future, but it does not look like they want it.

Regards

Chris
