UNABLE TO CANCEL CONTRACT AFTER 6 MONTHS OF TRYING

I have been a Vodacom contract customer since the early 2000s with one number continuously and numerous other contracts. My *** number was upgraded in August 2023. The upgrade promised a new handpiece and vouchers to the value of R5000. The new handpiece (Samsung) was delivered, but no vouchers. As a result, I canceled the deal and returned the handpiece.

On 04 September 2023 at 15:44, their employee Kenny confirmed receipt of the handpiece with reference V2P***. I clearly instructed him that I did not want to continue with an upgrade and to cancel the contract.

On 06 September 2023, I called Mishak at 16:20 with reference number 2-*** 333 to enquire about not receiving an SMS to confirm the cancellation. He acknowledged that a query/cancellation had been lodged but had not yet been processed.

Numerous other attempts at canceling the transaction were made after that, of which I have lost the reference numbers. However, by January 2024 I was informed by Vodacom that my account was in arrears due to their non-cancellation of the *** number.

On 19 January at 11:51, I again phoned *** and spoke to Sharon. She transferred me to Masasele at *** who gave me a reference of 5-***8103 and informed me that the process would take 3 to 4 working days.

On Monday 05 February 2024, I sent an email to '*** to try and clarify the problem. No reply has been received.

My full account has now been blocked. I had two accounts at Vodacom with my one number being in use for nearly 20 years. I continued with payment on my *** number and kept it up to date. I am now being penalized by Vodacom for their inability to cancel a contract that already expired early in 2023.

Is this the service that I get after 20 years?
