*****ulent sales pitch

I was contacted by a consultant with Vodacom, on 27 March 2025, at 16:40, offering me the option to exchange the 200 free SMS' I receive each month, but don't use, to an additional 1,4 Gb of data instead, without any additional costs or changes in my package. When I checked my status on the first of April, I was given 14 Gb Day-time and 14 Gb Night-time data and my account went from R370 to R960. When I tried to convert back I was told it can only be done on the first of the next month, meaning I have to now pay the R960 and wait until 1 May 2025. I don't think that this is fair, as this was not what was sold to me.

Also, the lady mentioned she will send me an e-mail regarding this migration. I only received the quote for this call on the 1st of April at 8.59 PM. Which looks to me like this sales person did deliberately as she knew I wouldn't settle for this ridiculous migration. Why would any sane person pay R960 for 14Gb day-time, and 14Gb night-time data, whereas I pay R330 for 100Gb data day-time, and 100Gb night-time data on my wi-fi contract?

After escalating the matter (On 1 April at 06:41 am), I was told Vodacom would contact me within 24 to 48 hours. As of yet, 1 WEEK LATER, I haven't received any feedback from anyone at Vodacom.

I would most definitely not recommend ANYONE to switch to Vodacom or believe any of their sales consulatnts.
