<p>I have had a contract with Vodacom on my mother's name for more than 10 years. I was tired of the INSANE high Data prices and terrible signal strength where I work and decided to cancel the contract and move to another network. My mother requested the settlement amount and I paid it the morning of the 25th of October. Two days later I received an SMS stating my request to leave Vodacom has been rejected?!?!?! WHAT? My mother phoned them immediately and they had no idea what she was talking about and wanted all sorts of details that she did not have. On the afternoon of 28 October she phoned again to ask why the contract has not ended, and now they wanted a reference number that she did not have (how *********** must the call agent be not be find a reference number on an account that keeps all relevant information?) Vodacom stated that it takes 72hrs to close the contract, is that 72hrs after they figured out what their job is or another planet's time? I want to open a contract with my current number, but obviously cant until VODACOM decides so. I assume that all costs accumulated after the 72hrs is on VODACOM's own account? Now I have to wait until this email is send to another VODACOM puppet and this person will forward it to another department (or several) until one person just pushes the 5 buttons on his pc to deactivate the account. How long will this take?</p>
