Trying to cancel a Vodacom debit since Sept 2020

Like so many other Vodacom customers / ex-customers writing reviews on HelloPeter, I have been continually charged for a Vodacom service that I cancelled months ago. Since Sept 2020 I have been trying to cancel a debit order. Of course, my bank (Standard Bank) will not help me and Vodacom continues to debit my account despite phone calls and emails requesting that this be cancelled. This is basically theft and yet Vodacom continues to ignore my requests.

So a Vodacom consultant did make contact with my 85 year old Mother re this issue - instead of cancelling the debit order as first requested on Sept 2020 (and finally agreed by yourselves on 7 January) you sent her an email confirming that the cancelled account would now be made pay-as-you-go and you have debited the account with an amount of R138 (3 months worth of debit orders!!). Vodacom confirmed that the debit orders would cease on 31 January 2021 and despite requesting this in Sept, I accepted this just to end the whole frustrating business! Why then does Vodacom continue to debit my account and why have they decided NOT to cancel the account as requested but instead, to move it over to pay-as-you-go? in January 2021
