Trying to Cancel a Contract with Vodacom is Worse than Loadshedding

For the past few weeks we have been trying to cancel a contract with Vodacom that we are entitled to cancel before 15 March 2023 as notified by an email from Vodacom itself. I was told that our uncapped internet would be amended to a light throttling, which would be pointless for our household since we work from home. I ended up getting uncapped Fibre elsewhere which is far better than the slow LTE wifi router.

I have been on endless calls, heard empty promises and was told Vodacom would calm me back each time, with no follow-through on those promises.

The next step would be to see a lawyer I suppose and to cancel all 5 of my contracts instead of just the single contract.

On one call, I asked the call center agent for a reference number which was inaudibly mumbled and when I asked for a name and surname, he sarcastically said his name was "Trevor Noah". I asked, "like the comedian?" to which he just said "yes".

This is the terrible service being offered by Vodacom's employees and we are less than impressed.

Tomorrow I will be forced to once again call Vodacom in an attempt to cancel the contract. This time I will record the call from my side and post it on social media for all to hear, along with the final results of the call.

Why must we be forced to seek legal aid? Why can the people inside the physical branches not assist us? All I am hearing is excuses with no results!!

I am extremely disappointed in Vodacom's service and sick of excuses and empty promises. I quite deeply prefer sitting with loadshedding instead of having to deal with this matter with Vodacom any further.
