Try to bypass warrenty
My i-phone screen went blank and I could not access my phone. So on 19 October I took it into Vodacom to get it repaired. They checked on the system and told me that my warranty expired on the 25th, so great the phone was under warranty and needed to be repaired so I booked it in. I received a call on October 30th to say that they needed proof of purchase of the phone so the same day I brought the proof in, they made a photo copy. The person I dealt with said to me that the phone was irreparable and that I wold be contacted during the course of the next week to come and fetch a replacement phone. The following week friday I still had heard nothing so I phoned again, only to be told that the phone is out of warranty and that they are preparing a quote, to which I then threw my toys and demanded that it be repaired under warranty. 10 Novemeber I receive an sms to say my phone has been repaired only to be told at the shop that the matter has been escalated and there is now a new job number and they cannot give me an answer as to when I can get my phone back.
