Trivial make belief

Fellow reviewers,

I know you are going to vomit because I feel like doing it myself. Vodacom has once again, shat on the small guy.

Never have I missed any of their contract payments which amount to R848 p/m. In December 2016, becasue, I don't know, they felt like piping my ****, they decided to charge me a whooping R1700 - which I didn't pay of course. I tried to call their notoriously anonymous call centre to enquire about this figure, lo and behold, I got a ***kol.

Obviously they keep adding to the amount owed, which cuurrently stands at R2800 and I had the disspleasure of finally talking to one of their vcontract consultants. During our discussion, I calmly pointed out that my October 2016 and November 2016 statements were never emailed to me, as they had previously done and continued to do so bar those two aforementioned months. She (I didn't bother rembering her name, really) informed me that my account was not in arrears prior to that, to which I asked her to check in my invoice history whether I had ever had to pay R1700 in a month. Unsurprisingly, she couldn't find one - bar December 2016. Now, I'm not Newton or Einstein, but R848, cannot evolve into R1700 overnight, unless of course, you apply the fabled Vodacom theorem of "number sneezing" = R848 sneezes once to make R1696 and then you round that off to make it easier for calculation purposes to R1700. Viola!

I really would enjoy whatever it is that they're smoking over there at Vodacom, because it seems like it's knocking their socks off.

After my conversation with this lady, she asked me to email her my December 2016 and January 2017 statements ********** - which I did instantly - Thursday, 3 March 2017. I was reassured that I would be contacted as soon as they figured out how to explain (you'd expect them to have already known this) these inconsistent amounts. Today - Friday, 4 March 2017, their response was to block my account and say nothing. No feedback to my email, nothing. Their usual unsolicited prostate exam on their customers.

Now, I understand that Vodacom is in the business of making money, like any other business, but this is something else.

I simply can not find words to describe this situation, other than to see it as a deliberate "eff you" to my face.

I will be going to Vodaworld in Midrand to sort this mess out face-to-face and I'm pretty sure I will get a long winded explanation as to why I have to pay a huge fee and I'll enjoy watching them do it.

I'm sorry for having to share such morbid news on friday with you all, fellow reviewers.

Vodacom, get your act together.

Regrettably,

Siyanda
