******* into purchasing a modem and subsequently charged over R2,400!!

I was ill informed on a product by a Mondo (division of Vodacom) telesales consultant and returned the device (modem) within the requisite time-frame in the month of May.

Everything went smoothly and I received confirmation from Mondo that the device was received and that no charges will be debited to my account.

I however noticed that a number ( ********** 313) - account (I ********** -1) was created under my name and I started getting billed from 11 May 2016 (please refer Invoice no. B ********** 87).

In the August Invoices (H4-R5TP & H4-QG99), I was billed over R2,000!

When queried, Vodacom (Mondo) confirmed that the cancellation was incorrectly processed late and that I will receive the refund when the new system goes live.

I subsequently made follow up contacts as per below including reference numbers and persons spoken to:

1. 23 August - Progress on 23 August at 1pm who advised me to call after sales on ********** following options 1 and 3.

2. 24 August at 17:48 (Mondo) - Tumi confirmed that the modem was received on 12 May but that someone had forgotten to log the collection and that is why I kept getting billed. She advised that as soon as the system is online I will receive my refund. She escalated the query and marked as urgent.

3. 06 September at 1pm Palesa advised that the system was offline and she will contact me back - she never contacted me.

4. 12 September at 2pm Ntabiseng advised that the system was offline and she will contact me back - she never contacted me.

5. The same day I approached the store manager at the Rosebank Voda-store (Tami) who assisted me by attempting to contact Mondo with little success as they would not provide him with any useful information about my case. The lady we spoke (Zama) refused to put us through to the line manager at Mondo, Tebogo.

6. The same day I contacted Mpumi at 17:42 on ********** 000 and finally got some assistance together with a reference number 1- ********** 5945. She advised that a credit note had been issued of R434 only and that she would escalate the matter further with accounts. I still have not received the funds for this.

7. On 13 September I contacted Mbali Thole who advised she would call back and escalate the matter and gave me a reference number of 1- ********** 2009.

8. On 16 September Nolo from Vodacom Solutions advised that the matter will be dealt with within 7 working days.

9. Over and above the calls to the call centres ( ********** following options 1 and 3 as well as the supervisors number ********** and ********** 7) I approached Tami in Rosebank again who advised me to go to the Voda World in Midrand.

10. After taking his advice, on 17 September I was assisted by Kagiso at Voda World (the line manager Solly was not available) who after taking his managers advice had taken into his own hands to get the refund with the retention and cancellation department manager Shameel. The following communications were made with Kagiso:

10 a) Sipho Madlalo apparently attempted to make contact with me with no success

10 b) Another reference number was received on my mobile regarding the escalation (1- ********** 009)

10 c) A credit note was passed on 04 October to the value of R86.84 after which I informed Kagiso who said he would escalate to Subscriber Collection Admin

10 d) On 2 November Kagiso advised that he was awaiting feedback from the refund / credit team leaders.

10 e) 4 November Kagiso advised that a new ref # was created (1- ********** 8529) and that *****do was working on my query.

Since then I have not heard back and am afraid my voice is falling on deaf ears at Vodacom and I have exhausted all options. I have also approached ICASA and NCC to resolve as I believe this is the only way to get to an end point to getting my money back! Approx R2,500!!

Hi Vodacom. No attempt has been made to contact me whatsoever. Yet again, falling on deaf ears!
