Treatment of Vodacom Customer Care
I bought a Samsung S25 Ultra on contract then within two months the device gave me some problems then the device was handed in for repair at vodacom repair shop because of the following:
1. Material Defect from the Start
Requiring a mainboard replacement on a brand-new phone constitutes a material defect. A new device should not require such major repair within two months. Meaning it was a factory fault, and it was supposed to be returned to Samsung for replacement of a new device. This proves that the device was not of good quality or free of defects when sold, which violates Section 55 of the Consumer Protection Act.
2. I Never Accepted the Repair
Because I have not collected the device, I have never taken delivery of it or accepted the repair as satisfactory. I cannot be expected to accept a phone that has been opened and had its mainboard replaced when I paid for a new device.
3. Device Is Still "New" (But *****ed)
While the device was opened for diagnosis and repair, it is no longer in a "new" condition because it has undergone major internal repairs. I am entitled to a factory-fresh, unused replacement, not a repaired unit. My issue was never resolved and i am still paying for the device that am not using. Vodacom does not care about its own customers.
