Totally Disgusted !!
I purchased an HTC one M8 in July 2014 on a smart contract from Vodacom Canal Walk. Of late the battery/phone started to heat up and with this condensadtion took place leaving water in the pouch, then suddenly the phone did not want to switch on.
I took it to vodacom for repairs and was 1st called to say thet my phone is ready for collection, having arrived there, just to hear that my phone is beyond repair and the warranty does not cover water damage. Yet they DO NOT want to know that the water damage is because of a manufacturer fault/defect.To them water damage is water damage, irrespective. So they have the audacity to tell me that i still need to continue with the contract and pay for a device that had defects at no fault of mine. The lady at Canal Walk Vodacom, Aneesa could not even answer me, when i asked her if she would pay for a device that is faulty or had defects, not to mention pay for a device that is not even in my possesion.
I made it clear to her that no normal person would continue paying for a device that is faulty/have defects, if it was of no fault of theirs. She didnt seem to care. This dispute is currently still ongoing with Vodacom.
