To self RICA or NOT
Does anyone actually work at customer care? Why do prepaid packages have a “self RICA” option printed on it if according to all agents selling them you cannot buy a prepaid sim without them doing RICA in store? False advertising much? Rude staff with a “call customer care” attitude. Customer care “please consider self help options” WHAT A JOKE VODACOM.

17 Feb 2022, 10:19OH the IRONY! Vodacom customer care tries to call me this morning, TWICE. The reason I couldn’t take the call?? NO SIGNAL IN OUR AREA! I received MESSAGES about the missed calls after the fact.
Also, your reply that “you may also do RICA on the Vodacom app” does not answer why your agents selling these SIM cards FORCE customers to RICA in store? Surely in the current pandemic, it would be smarter to inform customers that actually, they do not have to queue in store at all? Your manager tells me this is on instructions from Vodacom, that it must be done in store. Yet your reply in fact, states otherwise. Please kindly explain why one has to argue with a manager in store about this? To be told by the manager “I have been in the industry for 13 years, I know more” to be made to feel like an absolute idiot and also for the whole store to be watching as your manager arrogantly dismisses me because he “still doesn’t understand “
One salesman quickly sells me the SIM just to shut me up and obviously get me out the store.
And the looks from staff as leaving, shaking their heads at me, as if I have lost the plot. Disgusting. Degrading.
