This is terrible!

I am upset with Vodacom. I had requested that my contract be transferred to prepaid on Monday so that I can settle outstanding payments through a debit order per month. I was told, on Monday, that this will take about 48 hours. I waited for two days and nothing happened. I called again on Wednesday and I was told my problem will be escalated to ICT and that the matter should be fixed within 24 hours. I called again this morning, and the lady I spoke to said I should wait for an sms because the account has been moved to prepaid but she cannot confirm when this sms will come through but it could take about 24 hours. I called now at 15:00 and Busisiwe, the lady I spoke to, says she manually put my account on prepaid and that I should wait again for another 48 hours. When I asked her why is she able to manually make the changes and everybody else could not, she informed me that it was a system challenge, and that could possibly be the reason why everyone else was struggling, of which I struggle to believe. What was the point of the escalation if this problem is still not resolved?

On weekends, the accounts department does not work because it's not their business hours. Based on my experience this week, I am highly doubtful that this matter will be resolved. What annoys me is that I am being sent from pillar to post with no real explanation as to what the challenge may be and no resolution on the matter. From Monday, till today, I have waited for so long for these changes to be made and no one seems to be concerned about my experience with the service provider in getting my issue fixed. There seems to be a very nonchalant approach to problem resolution with Vodacom and this does not inspire any confidence.
