I went to a Vodacom shop to upgrade and do a sim swap today, 23 August 2017. The person who assisted me was helpfull and assisted me well. He supp**** me with the correct products. Regarding the sim swap, he confirmed that it can take up to 4 hours for my new sim to activate. I inserted the new sim into the cell before 12:00, and strugelled the whoe day to get the sim to work. I eventualy called customer care, and was assisted, but we could not resolve it. Eventually after much discussion the lady noted that the new sim will only activate the following day, on 24 September. This us not acceptable, as my old sim was already deactivated on 23rd, and my new sim will only activate on 24th!!! So this means I will be without a phone for one whole day. What do I pay for???? I think it is just common sense that if I upgrade today, I want to usse the phone today. So why only active it for 24, and still deactivate my old card on 23???? This is pathetic and bad customer service to say the least. I am prejudiced to be without communication for a whole day. And to add on this, the lady who assisted me said if I have any issue, I should go back to the branch, and that is aftr 17:00 on a Saturday!!! How sarcastic can one person be.
