Think twice about Vodacom Fibre for Home
Think twice before ordering Vodacom fibre for your home. 22 May 2020: Fibre order was confirmed on 22 May 2020, and router and wi-fi extender was ordered. Between 22 May 2020 and 9 June 2020 their courier, RAM could simply not tell me when the router would be delivered, despite seeing their vehicles in my town whenever I was out on an errand / shopping. I decided to fetch my parcel myself and drove 138km to their CT depot to collect it. 10 June 2020: Drive to RAM to collect my parcel. They can't find it. By the way, never go to the depot. There is no customer shelter, so you stand in the pouring rain talking through a intercom to someone inside. I got soaked to say the least. It took RAM 1 hour to find my parcel in their depot. On the side of the box is written "no-one lives there" only to find out Vodacom gave the courier my tablet cell phone number, instead of my actual cell phone number. Open the box. Only the router inside. No wifi extender. Drive 138km back home. Plug in. Can't connect. Call Vodacom (don't get a reference number). 12 June 2020. Call again and ask for a reference number. Logged a ticket with Victor SR *** and we establish the problem is with Openserve, they need to connect me. He PROMISES someone will call me back. I wait...and wait....and wait..... 15 June 2020: Call Nathi using the same reference number. "I'll call you back". No one calls. I wait and wait and wait..... 17 June 2020: I call again. Speak to Jason. He will call me back.....I wait and wait, Jason doesn't call. 19 June 2020: I speak to Viana. She will call me back....Doesn't call. I call again, speak to Yandiswa, she puts me on hold and we get cut off. So, rule of thumb, order fibre from Vodacom and be willing to.....wait for it......WAIT.
Thursday 14:45 25 June 2020: Lance calls about my HelloPeter post. He ALSO says "Let me investigate and I'll call you back"....and you guessed it:) No call.
So....Question of the week: How many men does it take to get Openserve to flick a switch?
Answer: Apparently more than 7 men. Wow Openserve, you really do have Vodacom by the .......

Call No. 9 to Vodacom: Spoke to Gugu (8:45) She cannot tell me any feedback from Openserve. The project manager is Candice K (she couldn't give me the full surname). I asked her to get Candice to call me. When I asked for her email address I was declined.
Call duration at my expense 27 minutes.

Candice never called.....obviously scared of angry customers....
Gugu gets half a gold star for calling me back on Friday to tell me that Openserve were coming to fix the problem. They didn't come and no one called me back.
Yesterday....complete radio silence again, no feedback, no calls.
07:37 this morning, call number 10 to Vodacom, still begging to be a client...... spoke to ***leen. She will follow up.
