They will never see me again
I have copied an email that I sent to the Vodacom complaints department:
Good day To whom this might concern I have been trying for more than 3 weeks to upgrade my data line to a Double deal phone contract online and have spoken with multiple consultants. The first issue came when I received a confirmation email that specified that I will be contacted via my phone number to confirm my purchase. This phone number was part of the data sim and could not receive any calls so I called a consultant to put down a new number that could be made calls too. For this issue, I had to speak to two different consultants as the first one decided that my call was not important enough during her lunch break. The second consultant managed to make a note regarding my updated contact details. A few days went by and I STILL haven't received a confirmation call. Phoned a consultant again and she promised that the confirmation center would confirm with me before the end of the day. It honestly wasn't a surprise when it didn't come. Another week went by and I phoned consultants every day trying to explain that I have a data line that cannot be phoned. Finally got to one consultant where it made sense to her and she started to investigate the case. However, I still didn't receive a confirmation call because they STILL PHONED ON A DATA LINE. Impossible that I am the only customer in SA that tried to upgrade from a data line!! How can they not read a note specifying this issue? Numerous times they even canceled the order (acting as myself) because they could not get a hold of me. I decided to visit Vodacom in-store to place the order directly from a consultant. The consultant told me the reason why I cannot receive a confirmation call is that they do not have the phone in stock as it reached its' "End of Life". I could not place an order in-store because my status was still pending. Phoned the online consultants again and they told me that the store is basically telling me ******* because it is indeed in stock. They told me to continue waiting for the confirmation call and a week ANOTHER week passed so I decided to order a phone from Takealot as I was certain that there wasn't going to be a call. Yesterday a courier company arrived at my home with the phone. As I was unaware that I would even be receiving the order I didn't have my proof of address or copy of ID ready and asked whether he could come back later the day AND I had to cancel my order from Takealot. At 4 pm I called the courier company to confirm that I am at home and I have the documents ready, however, Vodacom issued an immediate return of the parcel. This wasn't even specified by Vodacom to me but the courier company had to inform me. I had to call another consultant that informed me that there was not any proof of this and that the courier was probably ****ming me. After calling ANOTHER time to the initial lady that investigated the case she told me that she wrote an email to the courier company issuing the return of the parcel because it was a "dummy parcel" with an incorrect phone t just to see whether I can receive a phone (note that the phone was even of more value compared to the double deal that I ordered). This entire process doesn't even make sense. To add more fuel to the fire Vodacom also contacted my mother (her details aren't even on my profile) but can't even manage to contact me on a number I gave them COUNTLESS times. A consultant told me that my mother fell for a **** because there aren't any notes on my profile about making a confirmation call but a different one apologized for the phone call to me. I asked to cancel my entire order and contract and she hung up AGAIN. I have been a customer for 5 years and have always referred friends and family to purchase Vodacom products instead of other mobile suppliers. I am happy to say that I cannot wait to officially cancel my order (apparently there is a waiting time of 7 to 14 working days due to the "dummy parcel" THEY decided to ship to me) and my contract from Vodacom. There is not a chance in hell that I would ever recommend Vodacom to any person or that they will see my money again. Terrible service, rude consultants and no one has any clue what goes on in their own department. This is a disgrace! Vodacom please fix your departments and have a look at the skill level and customer service that your employees offer. I can understand one or two people being *********** at their job but entire departments are lacking!
I am sure, after this entire struggle, that if you manage to contact me on the correct number it will be a miracle. Looking forward to your response.
