They don't care and don't want to assist the customers
I had a contract/contracts with Vodacom for more than 20 years, being a loyal customer. I am currently struggling in order for them to outline the billing of my account after I’ve asked for a early cancellation of my contract. I have been writing several emails, making phone calls without luck. I requested an early cancellation of my contract on the 02nd October 2023 and received an early cancellation invoice. Which I went and pay on the 05th October 2023 and phoned them thereafter. I made sure that I followed due processes. I phoned customer care and according to the consultant the cancellation takes time to be processed and will reflect soon and the number will be on prepaid. It looks like the service provider’s call centre agents deliberately avoiding processing cancellation requests timeously to earn incentives from Vodacom. On the 01 of November my phone was once again loaded with the contract airtime. I immediately phoned customer care and made them aware. I even told them that I won’t use the airtime and I’m also not going to be held liable for any further accounts after my cancellation date. They retracted the airtime on the 06th of November. Vodacom delay in the timeous cancellation of the contract upon my request, resulting in me being charged for periods after having requested the cancellation of my contract with them. But my ordeal did not stop there. I received a hefty amount that needs to be paid and also treats. I requested on several time an explanation on the billing amount, but I am just being ignored. Does anyone in Vodacom actually work as needed and as intended. With the ability to solve the customers queries. They just don’t care and do not want to assist. The problems just continue with Vodacom. Are they charging me penalty fees for prematurely cancelling the fixed-term contracts? (Delay in the timeous cancellation of the contracts upon request by customers, resulting in the customers being charged for periods after having requested the cancellation of their contracts) Is Vodacom to big to care. Vodacom treat customers poorly and unfairly. The challenge here is that the people who this impacts the most have no voice or platform to be heard. The poor are taken advantage of, unaware of the theft, and unable to recover their losses through the channels available to them. We as the consumers should stand up to predatory business practices. It is this moral hazard that drives the actions of our future generations. “It is said that for evil to prevail good men must do nothing”
