THERE IS A SERIOUS COMPLIANCE ISSUE IN THE OPERATIONS OF VODACOM TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR!!!

VODACOM THERE IS A SERIOUS COMPLIANCE ISSUE IN THE OPERATIONS OF VODACOM TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR!!!

Every SIM card you buy now, can only be bought if you show an identification document! That means the SIM card is registered against your ID/ biometric data (if new smart ID IS USED)

Due to greed and chasing the bottom line, your SIM card expires if it is inactive for a certain period of time! That’s SIM card is then removed from your records…. But is it?

I cannot understand why living in a remote part of South Africa, where Internet failure happens on and off and you use the VODACOM ****le as a backup for Internet! Of course you cannot predict the next failure in Internet service provider locally, so you tend to not use the VoDACOM ****LE DAILY - you don’t go with the VoDACOM designated SIM card unless you are required to use it!

Every time, if your SIM card has been inactive for ‘x’ days… you have to go to Vodacom shop and purchase a new SIM card of course showing your digital ID!

So after a mere 18 months - you have accrued to your ID and your name quite a few SIM card numbers due to inactivity!

Apart from being utterly not sustainable - more plastic cards and more papers etc etc one can only worry with real concern, how those numbers that have become ‘inactive’ (linked to your digital ID) is re-allocated, possibly and probably to some ******** or obtained for use by some ****mer in our lovely country!

I cannot for the life of me understand why I have to continue to buy a new number and a new SIM card to add a data to my Vodacom ****le Regret ever buying the Vodacom ****le!

Surely statistics are available reflecting that those using the Vodacom ****le, use it as a backup!!!!

So in the meantime, we just burn through SIM cards and numbers and pray to God that these numbers that were designated and linked to our smart IDs are not abused in the ******** network of South Africa!

I can only speak for Vodacom unfortunately I only deal with Vodacom! Maybe the other service providers have smarter policies and more diligent with compliance!
