The UNKNOWN 'Vodacom Screen Insurance' story...

I have had two ongoing and time-consuming issues with Vodacom... I have now had enough!!

Firstly, the sales personnel are very persistent when selling unnecessary add-on services and products… That is until you actually need to make use of this product/service….. THEN nobody is able to assist or let alone AWARE of this product....I have Vodaom Screen Insurance on my contract. I only added this screen insurance, as the Vodacom Insurance sales person was extremely persistent and pushy. I accepted this insurance just to get rid of him..

In January this year, I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. I have been relentlessly trying to claim for this for the last 3 months without success. I have called the Customer service centre numerous times. No one is able to assist. I was told to take my phone to a Vodacom outlet. I went to 4 different Vodacom shops. None of the staff at these shops even knew that Vodacom offered screen insurance!!! They told me to take my phone to Samsung for a free repair – what is the use of paying for screen insurance then??? I was referred back to the call centre. After another phone call today, I have had enough.

Secondly, I have had this phone for under a year. The phone gets extremely hot. I can barely touch the phone. The Samsung App gives me an overheating warning. I then have to cool down the phone via this app. In my opinion, this is not normal?? The phone is still under warranty.
