The theft and harassment continues
On the 29th September 2022 I posted the below on the Vodacom page on Hello Peter. To date nobody from Vodacom has called me. The below are the details copied from Hello Peter as to how this matter has unfolded. Vodacom has done NOTHING except hand my Mom, who is 80 and has mental health issues, over to debt collectors. These debt collectors do NOT have a Vodacom number for my Mom as SHE is and always has been a Cell C client. Now I am being harassed every day by debt collectors. When I explain, guess what? They cannot speak to me as I am NOT the account holder! Well VODACOM neither is my mother. You have ****** over R10k from my Mom’s account from 2015 ********ly. If I do not got a valid and proper response and have this money refunded and the harassment stopped I will lodge a complaint with the ombudsman. Do NOT tell me to call in, I cannot, the number that apparently belongs to my Mom does not exist and never has according to the Vodacom store consultants who WERE kind enough to assist me.
In a private reply I received the below: Dear Lucrezia Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organisation. Kindly be advised that we were not able to make contact with you. Please call Subscriber Collections on *** for any further assistance. Regards Consumer Website Team
This is factually incorrect. I rep**** as per the below: I CANNOT call you as I cannot be authenticated as the number does not exist!!!
SHAMEFUL THEFT OF MY MOM'S MONEY REF; 1-**********4386. Wow Vodacom you take a lack of service to a next level, for two months now I have been trying to get an account sorted out, I have no details because all I have on my Mom's bank account is a number: **********. Before cancelling this number and questioning the fact that my Mom has had a Cell C account for 15 plus years, the lady at the Vodacom store (who is VERY helpful) checked and the number does not exist. Apparently since 2015 you have been debiting my Mom's account with R115pm. My Mom is 80 and has dementia, I have now taken over the management of her bank account so I did the right thing by querying firstly and then reversing the last two months debits, both of which were much higher because you tried to take arrears. NOW she has been handed over to MBD who quote an acc number: **********242968, message sent to MY Vodacom number so I have no idea how that happens. Sharing my Vodacom number with a collections agency without my account being in arrears??? POPIA you are so fond of quoting while avoiding actually assisting. I CANNOT AUTHENTICATE ANYTHING TO GET ANY HELP EITHER BECAUSE GUESS WHAT? THE NUMBER DOESNT EXIST AND NEITHER IS THERE A CONTRACT. YOU HAVE ****** MY MOTHER'S MONEY FOR MORE THAN 7 YEARS! SHAMEFUL AND SHAMEFUL THAT I CANNOT SORT IT OUT FOR HER. I am tired of running the gauntlet and waiting for weeks for a manager to call me back which has not happened to date. SHAMEFUL THEFT
