The Taxi's are on Strike!

As I am due for an upgrade this month I received a phone call on the 01 June from vodacom enquiring which handset I would like, I informed the lady on the phone and said she would call me back with package options. I never received a call back. Then on Friday evening the 02 June I go to vodacom online and I see I am able to login and do the upgrade from there, so I thought this is convenient let me go for it as it boasts a 24 hour turnaround time, so I think worse case scenario I should receive it mon\tues of the following week! I order my package and the deal on the site which comprises a handset and a set of headphones. I receive a confirmation immediately that the order has been processed and I get confirmation and order number.BGT1LW

the the following week I don't hear a thing.....so the Friday I call and I am first of all I am given then run around from number to number ( ********** 4, ********** and more). As the upgrades department can't comment on online orders and proceeds to put me on hold while they try and find out what's happening, I get cut off. Then a lady calls me back to say that it may be 'stuck' she spoke to the teamleader in online and they will send an email and I should have it Monday/Tuesday of the following week...bearing in mind I have been given a tracking number for this delivery already(ram couriers KO293469). The order is waiting for dispatch.

Ok Monday comes and I call again to ensure the order is on its way( the usual run around ensues from one department to the next) then a lady tells me there is no stock hence its waiting for dispatch. So I ask when do you expect stock, she says she doesn't know and I must just keep phoning...her words to be exact...'maybe call the end of this week again and then again the end of the month'. So as the customer I have to just call and call again? She says yes. I was in shock and I just put the phone down. Then on the same day I receive an SMS from vodacom asking if my query is resolved reply 'yes' or 'no'. Naturally I reply No. I receive a call a few minutes later from customer service and I proceed to explain the whole drama to this gentlemen on the phone and he calls the online department while I.m on the line and conferences a supervisor in. The supervisor then says they were waiting for stock but it arrived on the 06 June already(both things) and I should receive it Tuesday as it will be picked up by the couriers that afternoon. So that's that.

So as you would guess Tuesday comes and nothing....I call again and this time(after the usual run around on the phone) the lady tells me it was invoiced today and will be dispatched Tuesday evening and will receive it within the next 24 hours.

So obviously it's Thursday the 15 June and nothing.......by this time it's an Office joke, my colleagues waiting for me to call to hear the next excuse.

I call (the usual run around on the phone ensues), a guy calls the dispatch and puts me on hold for close to 10 min just to say no ones answering their phones and am I aware that the taxis are on strike! I was finished. I asked him what's that got to do with me? Is there no one at vodacom that can tell me *** is happening. He suspects its a stock issue and tomorrow is a public holiday and I must call back on Monday. So the customer service person suspects and doesn't know.

i am sorry vodacom, this is by far the worse service I have received in my life. Not only do your workers not have a clue of how to speak to a customer or what customer service is your business processes and systems sound like they are archaic to say the least. No one is able to give me a clear answer on a very simple thing, your departments haven't got a clue as to what's happening between them! South Africas leading cellular network, what a joke.

I am almost intrigued to call Monday to find out the next excuse, it's so sad that it's funny.

Truth be told if it's not sorted out Monday I will be cancelling everything.

Thanks

Mandy

Hi,

May I ask what qualifies as 'due course'. Is there a time frame you asssign to this? Or you prefer not to box it in? We are rapidly approaching C.O.B.

Thanks

mandy

Hi, I am responding to the original post as my query relates directly to this upgrade. I was quoted as R1168 X 24 months for the monthly cost however I was charged R1712,50 for August. I have just received my invoice for September and it is once again is R1712.50. Happy to provide the order confirmation I received of R1168. Why the difference in price? My number is. ********** 311
