The only way I will ever go back to Vodacom is in a coffin!
Recently I visited one of the Vodacom stores to inquire about porting my number to Telkom. I was told that my contract is expiring in December 2018 and that I should contact Vodacom on the 30th November 2018 to give my one month’s notice to Vodacom. This afternoon as I was just about to take off on a flight, I remembered to contact Vodacom for the cancellation and spoke to Nompumelelo Khaba who went again and cancelled my contract for a month from now. When I landed, I attempted to order an Uber, tried to call my husband...with no success and realized my line was no longer in operation. I contacted Vodacom who kept me on the phone for over 50 minutes apparently finding out the reasons my line was cut off (spoke to Qabukile Nximande and Sylvia amphitheater).During that time I am kept holding, I remain stranded at the airport with no way to call home or Uber. Frustrated is an understatement! I eventually manage to get on the Airport WiFi just to call the Uber and see the messages on WhatsApp from my husband that he is worried where I am and cannot reach me. He got so worried that he left to go find me at the airport whilst I had eventually found a way to get home. Vodacom cut me off completely when I have never owed them a cent because I finally, after probably 15 years or more decided to walk away from them. They could not give me any valid reasons my line was cut off which only worsened the way I feel about them today. Over the years so many terrible things have occurred during my time with Vodacom (e.g. data consumptions of thousands whilst I am sleeping and all apps in background etc have been turned off...I could write a thesis on the abuse I suffered through Vodacom). I finally decided to cut ties, save the high costs and suffered severely by being cut off a few minutes later. Through Vodacom I was left stranded with no option to contact my loved ones. My family was extremely worried and wasted time and money driving to the airport to locate me. This I can never ever forget nor forgive. What is worse is asking customers to give a month’s notice when you are fully capable of cancelling immediately. After over 50 minutes of holding on, I spoke to Lebo Mthungwa who informed me that I will only be able to be connected tomorrow because the team that can unlock me has already left today and that someone from Vodacom will be In touch with me in the morning. As it is currently I have no way of making and receiving calls, ususing date on my phone, nothing! I want a refund for the loss caused by your team’s carelessness.
