The Misadventures of Vodacom: A Tale of Vanishing Orders and Elusive Contracts
Dear Vodacom Customer Service,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the way my contract upgrade has been handled. I initially placed an order for the Galaxy S23+ deal with 512GB of storage in February and went through the process with one of your customer support agents. I received a confirmation SMS and confirmed order no, and, in anticipation, I purchased additional accessories for my new phone.
To my dismay, after a week and a half, I called your customer service regarding the status only to find out that my order had been canceled due to low stock. There was no notification or follow-up call regarding the cancellation and I had to make multiple phone calls to your customer service to establish this. Eventually, my original consultant reached out to me, and I was told that a new employee or someone that was not aware of the process had mistakenly canceled my order and that the issue would be escalated to management. It is noteworthy to add that during this delay that deal was no longer available. While I appreciated the explanation, I expected prompt resolution and communication regarding my order.
Despite being assured that I would receive feedback within three days, I did not hear from anyone about that issue for the last two months (Happy to provide all messages/emails to you). After four weeks, I gave up on the original order and that the original consultant would reach out to me and decided to proceed with the new Galaxy S23+ deal online, which included the Samsung Galaxy Pro watch. I received a confirmation email and awaited further instructions.
Unfortunately, the issues continued. When someone called to release my new order, it turned out that the contract was set as a top-up contract rather than an open contract. I must admit your website did not make the distinction between open line and top-up in the description. Once again, I was informed that the issue would be escalated back to sales to make the change. Five days later, I received another call attempting to release the order, but still, the issue was not resolved, and sales had not contacted me, and I was told that it would be escalated to sales again. This was two weeks ago, and I am still waiting for a proper response and resolution. Logging on to the website tonight I see that now the second deal that I was going for is also no longer available.
As a loyal customer, I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the way this situation has been handled. The lack of communication, multiple errors, and leaving me to try and just get a contract and product from you have seriously impacted my trust in your company.
I kindly request that you urgently investigate this matter, rectify the situation, and provide a clear and satisfactory resolution. I would appreciate a prompt response and or immediate solution, including honoring at least one of the two deals I have attempted to get from you over the last 2 months.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
