The big Corporate that's too big to care: Vodacom Part two.

Tomorrow will mark exactly three weeks since the issues with my account began. They charged me a service fee but I wasn't able to use their service for the three weeks. Theft.

I called them at least a dozen times to resolve my issue but there was nada. On Tuesday they told me my issue would be escalated and they'd contact me in 24 hours yet I heard nothing. Yesterday I (yes, I've made all the effort to help them help me) called again, desperately trying to get my phone working, half through the 25 minute phonecall the line dropped - nobody from Vodacom bothered to return my call.

Earlier, I had signed up for a contract migration with Vodacom - this morning the migration kicked it and unlocked my phone. But now, I have no 3G or internet access. I dread calling them and wasting my time again. I am shocked that such a massive brand could treat a customer of at least 2 decades this poorly.

I often wonder what would have happened if I found myself in an emergency situation and I was unable to use my phone to ask for help. What if it was a life and death situation? Does this make Vodacom a careless and irresponsible brand? Does it mean that my wellbeing means precious little to them because they so many customers?

After pleading with Vodacom for three weeks - begging them - not losing my patience and being rude to call centre agents like other customers would have been - I am left dissapointed, frustrated and deeply concerned.

If I'm not reimbursed, issued a full apology and explanation as to why I am not important enough to be helped, I will be making this a legal matter.

And the unfortunate reality for Vodacom is that in a world of bloggers there is no place for brands for brands to hide.

It makes me feel sick to think what I'm going to have to go through now to get my 3G working. Perhaps all it would take is a simple change of network providers.
